FOOD & ACCOMMODATIONS

GARDEN PLACE PATTAYA, 2N

Great apt, grumpy owner [said NO for everything, said we had no reservation when we clearly had!! ]

FOOD:

We are vegetarians and we self catered as we always do on our vacations. We bought our provisions from macro foodservices twice. All the rest was from 7 Eleven. In Thailand the 7 Eleven also stocks Rice So that was convenient. Macro food services stock only huge quantities as the name suggests . I had brought a pile of homemade flat bread [roti/tortillas] and tomato relish which lasted for some five days. I'd also brought Cashew nuts, raisins, dates, salt, homemade spice mix, butter etc which made life easy

AT CHECKOUT:

We always take pictures when we check out of our accommodation. In this case since we checked in late at night on several occasions it was good to have pictures of the apt in daylight

vessels washed up, kitchen clean

BANGKOK SLT APTS

Great apt, very nice owner, Supplied cooking utensils on request

AT CHECKOUT:

Nice wall hangings with mother of pearl painting on the staircase

They returned our deposit 500baht  cash on checkout

AYUTTHAYA SUNTOMOON RESIDENCE BY SUMO

Spacious apt In a huge complex with swimming pool et al . Very poor management

When we came for Check in at 1:00 PM he said Apartment will be available only at 2 . so we went for sightseeing and returned by 6:30PM. There was no one at the reception . There was a key with our name unattended on the table . A maid who was in the hall mumbled something, pointed where we should go . Thankfully a fellow resident at the swimming pool told us where our G block 404 room was and we took the lift . The apartment has induction stove, microwave etc but absolutely no vessels, no bowls, just two small plates . We sent a message by Whatsapp at 6:30 PM asking for some cooking vessels The manager replied at 9:30 PM saying their maid has left And they're sorry for the inconvenience. I prepare food for the night, morning and the next afternoon when I reach an accommodation and my plans totally ruined because of this negligence Every other accommodation in Thailand had all the things listed as mentioned in booking com, If something was missing they supplied on request This was the only place with so much lack of effort and politeness

Lobby

Provisions we had bought at MAKRO...

had only plate which I used to make some rice noodles with difficulty

AT CHECKOUT

SUKHOTHAI 100sqm 2 bed apartment above AJ Grill restaurant Sukhothai City.

Beautiful 2 bedroom apt, very nice owner

The kind owner fixed the rear view left mirror of our car with super glue and taped it. We were able to drive to Teak temple and back while our replacement car was driven from Bangkok to Sukhothai by our car rental. We could have driven in the same car to Chiang Mai where they could replace the car but they insisted the mirror should not fall off

[again our heartfelt gratitude to the cops and to God]

Made some veggies and rice in the microwave the owner had given a big plastic bowl It took a while
