EGYPT DIY TRIP NOV 22-DEC 11, 2023 [Cairo, Luxor, Aswan, Abu Simbel], Intro Part 4

 Continuing with the last part of the highlight pics...

Engaged our own boat negotiating 250egp return trip with an hour at the island

Got a ride with a driver waiting for his customers at Philae dock, after seeing the high dam and the friendship monument, we got dropped at Nubian museum

ABU SIMBEL

6am start from Aswan, were at Abu Simbel temples at 9am. Spent 4 hours enjoying it. Tour crowds just ebbed and flowed. We had the temples to ourselves quite a bit.
Got dropped back at apartment. Came back for the 7PM sound and light show [20usd pp]. Bonus.... the sight of hundreds of stars  twinkling over the monument!!  
next day driver drove us back to Luxor airport where we caught a flight to Cairo

Dervish dancer and stilts dancer enlivening the weekend crowds at Khan al Khalili... it was a lovely local party atmosphere with families enjoying their weekend.















LOGISTICS OF THE LAST PART OF VACATION:

LUXOR:

Had corresponded with Hamdi on whatsapp and he quoted 230usd for Luxor 5 days including pickup from airport, drop at Aswan with Edfu, KomOmbo on the way, day trip to Abydos, Dendera as well as east/west bank sites. Drive from Aswan to Luxor airport was also included.

It did not totally work out that way. Details are posted in the daily reports.
