FRANCE 2022 Trip report Day 14: Pyrénées: Vallee de Campan, Lac de Payolle, Bigorre, Campan village, Lourdes, Pau cathedral

 DAY 14, SEPTEMBER 29, 2022


STAY 

Pau continued


SIGHTS: 

Vallee de Campan, Lac de Payolle , Téléphérique du Pic du Midi de Bigorre, Lac des Gloriettes      , turned back before hitting Gloriettes lake  as it was too snowy and slippery, Campan, Lourdes, Pau cathedral

Téléphérique du Pic du Midi de Bigorre


This arae is Bagnères-de-Bigorre  located in the foothills of the Pyrenees partly in the valley of the Adour some 18 km (11 mi) southeast of Tarbes and 15 km (9 mi) east of Lourdes.




We parked the car in the big parking lot and used their free restroom beofre driving off

CAMPAN ONCE AGAIN

Life-size dolls (les Mounaques)

Life-size dolls (les Mounaques) made of rags and hay and dressed in traditional clothes. These dolls are local traditions; they are exhibited every summer, from July to September. One can see them everywhere: on the streets, balconies, in the gardens.
