Japan Trip Report, Apr12-28, 2024, Day 15: Shinkansen to Tokyo, Ueno Park

 DAY 15, Apr 26 Fri 2024: Tokyo

CHECKED OUT:

As usual we took some pictures and then checked out. The hotel has no maid service inside the room but they had left a hospitality package outside. We obviously did not need those new sets of towels and bed linen for just a short two night stay So left everything in the same package untouched on the table

We had already bought tickets online for the 10:30 shinkansen to Tokyo. We walked to the train station and boarded the train. 

There were some lovely snow peaked mountains we could see through the window on the 2hr journey.. We should have got down at the Ueno Station but we went all the way to the Tokyo station.

CHECKED IN:

 Our apt guys had already told us we can have an early check in at 1:00 PM itself instead of 4. The codes were the same as the previous visit. We wasted some time figuring out the transfer and then made it to Hirai station. We checked into our old apartment where we had stayed Apr 12-16, at 2 PM.

 Ueno Park

Our plan was to see the Tokyo National Museum that day because it is open up to 7:00 PM on weekends. We went to Ueno Park but it was already late and we didn't go to the museum that day. We saw the Rodin exhibits outside.

We had been inside the earlier visit... gold leaf decor and lovely carvings

then went back to the apartment. We bought some groceries. 

The smallest quantity of rice available is 2KG, so did not buy rice but just some noodles. We had just one more full day left in our vacation. Our flight back home was at 4:00 PM from Narita Airport on Sunday and we had to see to it that there was just adequate grocery to see us through.

at Toyama hotel, no facility to cook, so I bought a little too much this time!!
